On Thursday 24 September, the day after ASPIRE 2026 closed, ASPIRE joined ABB at the Kraków Botanical Garden to celebrate ten years of the ABB Business Services Kraków Hub. Morten Wierod, President and CEO of ABB, joined the celebrations.
The conference highlighted two things about how our industry evolves. The first is connection to head office and the business, which brings new mandates. The second is connection to place, as the source of capability.
ABB shows both. The presence of its CEO in Kraków speaks to the first. On the second, ABB’s Corporate Technology Centre has been in Kraków since 1997 and works with universities across Poland as partners in innovation, not as a source of talent to extract.
Writing in Kraków Calling, Andrew Hallam noted that more than 200 staff at the anniversary had worked at ABB for a decade.
At the conference, ABB was a Bronze Partner and brought an ABB robot to a programme about people and machines.
Our thanks to Paweł Wuzyk, Business Services Hub Lead, for having us, and to Jacek Liguziński, Director of the City’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, who shared the stage. Congratulations to ABB on the first ten years, and the next ten.
